Nintendo Gets Wiimote Strap Lawsuit Again

Do you remember two years ago, Nintendo was accused in a lawsuit of defective Wii wrist straps? President Satoru Iwata promised an investigation and a voluntary replacement program was enacted with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
As the issue dissolved, Nintendo thought that case wouldn’t be brought up again.
But a new class-action lawsuit is challenging the Wiimote strap again. The prior case also may determine this case’s outcome. Since its inception of the Wii, there have been three versions of the remote strap.
Attorneys for the plaintiff allege that all three straps are insufficient to secure and lock the remote in place.
Nintendo is also being accused of allegedly trying to hide incidents by consumers who have complaints of broken Wiimote straps to the CPSC. But can they be accused of such incidents when the strap replacement program was a voluntary one?
Although the lawsuit has been filed, Nintendo says they have not been formally contacted regarding this case.
